1. Pre-Visit Preparation:
- Scheduling: Nerds should have visits scheduled during their declared availability. Verify the event’s status via text or call through the GoTo Connect app or check-in with the on-duty RemoteHelp nerd.
- Travel & Prep Time: Allocate time for travel and preliminary research on the member’s needs, required tools, and any specific knowledge or deliveries necessary.
2. On-Site Protocol:
- Professionalism: Arrive professionally dressed, embodying a Gizmo state of mind: empathetic, caring, and patient.
- Meeting the Member: Introduce yourself, confirm the session’s goals, and outline what will be accomplished during the visit. Explain that additional visits may be scheduled if necessary.
- Activity Execution: Conduct the necessary activities, assistance, or repairs as planned. Always ensure members have Carbonite for backup, Splashtop for access, and appropriate mobile device backups.
3. Post-Visit Documentation:
- Updating Notes: Before leaving, update the event notes with a detailed account of the visit, including actions taken and any member-specific information. This can be done via voice-to-text, ChatGPT, or any other efficient method.
- Verification & Backup Checks: Ensure that all necessary backups and support systems like Carbonite and Splashtop are active and running.
4. Follow-Up and Billing:
- Confirmation and Invoicing: Ensure that the notes are thorough as they’re used for confirmation emails, billing, and creating invoices.
- Payment: Nerds are compensated post-verification of detailed and completed notes within the event. Incomplete notes will defer payment to the next invoicing cycle.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Feedback and Learning: Encourage nerds to reflect on the visit, noting any potential improvements or additional training needed for future visits.
